RockTape®

RockTape® Treatment San Ramon

What is RockTape®?

RockTape® is kinesiology tape made to help minimize pain, reduce inflammation, and assist in the recovery of bodily injuries. Think of RockTape® as the top of the spectrum when it comes to kinesiology tape. Like anything great, RockTape® evolved to “meet the demands of athletes but the net effect is simply the best kinesiology tape around,” which is exactly we use it at Canyon Chiropractic in San Ramon.

How Do We Use RockTape®?

RockTape® is specifically engineered to lift a patient’s skin to allow for decompression and swelling reduction. This process sends a signal to the nervous system from the point of pain to help reduce that pain signal and, ultimately, to reduce pain. Just like chiropractic care, RockTape® helps produce the endogenous analgesic system, which basically means that it helps your body heal naturally on its own.

Chiropractic care focuses on identifying subluxations in the body and adjusting the body in specific ways that realign the spine to allow for better functionality. In fact, many of the athletes than come to our office for an adjustment benefit from the additional relief they receive from RockTape® after receiving a series of treatments.

RockTape® combined with chiropractic care can help with:

  • Rotator Cuff Pain
  • Lower Back Pain
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Shin Splints
  • Knee Issues

What is RockTape® Good For?

In order to diagnose which injury you may have, x-rays or MRI’s may be necessary. This helps rule out fractures and allow us to find soft-tissue injuries. Ice and heat may be helpful in reducing pain while the tissue is healing, and elevation helps to reduce swelling. The most important thing to know is how RockTape® can be prevented. Educating yourself and loved ones on proper warm up and cool down procedures, sufficient water intake, and proper techniques can reduce RockTape® substantially.
